Indian cricket icons Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are gearing up for their final tour of England in 2026, as part of the BCCI’s revamped preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa.

The BCCI, amid the ongoing England-India Test series — which Kohli and Rohit are not part of following their retirement from Test cricket last month — announced a white-ball series scheduled for July 2026.

India’s Tour of England 2026 – Full Schedule

India will play five T20Is (July 1–11) followed by three ODIs (July 14–19) at major venues, including Birmingham, Cardiff, and London.

T20I Fixtures:

  • July 1: 1st T20I – Banks Homes Riverside, Durham
  • July 4: 2nd T20I – Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester
  • July 7: 3rd T20I – Trent Bridge, Nottingham
  • July 9: 4th T20I – Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol
  • July 11: 5th T20I – Utilita Bowl, Southampton

ODI Fixtures:

  • July 14: 1st ODI – Edgbaston, Birmingham
  • July 16: 2nd ODI – Sophia Gardens, Cardiff
  • July 19: 3rd ODI – Lord’s, London

Road to ODI World Cup 2027

The England tour will be India’s second-last overseas ODI series before the 2027 World Cup. In total, the Men in Blue are slated to play 24 ODIs leading up to the marquee event, starting with a three-match ODI series in Australia this October.

Women’s Cricket & England’s 2026 Summer

The ECB also unveiled a multi-format series for the Indian women’s team, starting with three ODIs — Chelmsford (May 28), Bristol (May 30), and Taunton (June 2) — followed by a historic one-off Test at Lord’s.

England’s summer schedule will also feature Ben Stokes’ Test side facing New Zealand and Pakistan, while Harry Brook’s white-ball team will host Sri Lanka in addition to India.

ECB Statement on 2026 Season

Richard Gould, ECB Chief Executive, called 2026 “a spectacular summer of international cricket,” highlighting the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup hosted in England for the first time since 2009 and the landmark women’s Test match at Lord’s.
